Right from the outset, there is risk and reward to contemplate. A drive up the right side, carrying the estuary will provide you with a shorter shot to the green, but missing your driving line to the right with this strategy brings the estuary into play.

The bowl effect around the left side and back of this green makes it receptive to a longer approach shot, so taking an aggressive and potentially risky line down the right side off the tee is not the only option.

The bunkers on the left side of the fairway set this tee shot up beautifully and suggest to the mind’s eye that a left to right ball flight aimed at them back to the middle of the fairway is the architects intended way to play it.

The green is large and receptive, but strategically bunkered to make achieving an up and down a real challenge for any failed attempt to reach it.

Play to the middle left of the fairway and the heart of the green, and a satisfying par will be the result!

This hole will no doubt be a stern test into the prevailing wind, but our course set up team will take this into account as required.
